The SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART is an enhanced manual deployment survivor location device intended for use on life-rafts or survival crafts.
Based on international standards, the SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART is a sophisticated manual deployment survivor location device intended for use on life-rafts or survival craft. It offers improvements, including increased detection range, over traditional SART technology.Using the Automatic Identification System (AIS), the SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART can provide surface vessels with its position at a range of approximately 5 miles whilst aircraft can locate it at over 30 miles, depending on conditions. This significantly improves your chances of a fast rescue.
Safety, under stress
The SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART is compact and easy to operate and deploy. It is a portable device that can be wall mounted on board or stored inside a survival craft for fast evacuation. So you can be confident of your ability to locate and activate it even in stressful situations. The SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART transmits target survivor information including structured alert messages, GPS position information and a unique serial identity number. Once activated, the SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART transmits continually for minimum 6 hours. An in built GPS provides accurate position information to assist a quick recovery of survivors.
Unique identification
Identification for SAR vessels and aircraft is further enhanced, because SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART has a unique 9 digit identification code, which means an individual AIS SART can be located even under situations of heavy AIS traffic in busy shipping lanes.Any activated SAILOR 5051 AIS-SART will show up with position and bearing on a vessels’ ECDIS or chart-plotter as a red cross in a circle, meaning it can immediately be identified as a life craft in distress.
